What this is for

You are entitled to a portable copy of the personal records held about you. The Your data page prepares one for you. The copy covers your profile, the organisations you belong to, your contracts and bids, your history of AI use, your billing records and your audit log. It is the same whether your work is public or private.

Where to find it

Open Settings, then Sign-in and security, and choose the link to request a data export. The page is called Your data.

Step by step

  1. Open the Your data page.
  2. Choose Request export.
  3. If asked, confirm that it is you with your second factor. If you have not set one up yet, you are guided through it, which takes about a minute, and you come straight back to the page.
  4. Wait for the export to be prepared. This usually takes a few minutes. The page updates by itself and an email tells you when it is ready.
  5. Open the email, or return to the page, and choose Download beside the export in your history.

Good to know

The download link is private to you and expires after a few days, so download it soon. The page lists every export you have requested with its status: pending, processing, ready to download, link expired or failed. You can ask for one export at a time, and after one completes there is a waiting period before you can ask for the next. The page tells you the date you can request again.

If it goes wrong

If the button says an export is already in progress, wait for it to finish. If a request has run for over an hour, the page says it is taking longer than expected and lets you start a new one. If an export shows failed, start a new one, and contact support from the Support page if it fails again. If a link has expired, request a new export. If the history cannot be loaded, the page says it is a temporary problem and does not mean you have no exports.
