What this is for
Workflows let you set up rules that run when something happens in Velstrian Tenderworks, so a routine next step does not wait for someone to remember it. A rule has a trigger, the event that starts it, and an action, the thing that then happens. The Workflows screen shows which triggers are available to you and what each one can do, read live from the product rather than from a fixed list.
A plan level feature
Workflows are part of the Integrations capability. They are included on the Portfolio plan, or on the Pro plan with the paid Integrations add on. On any lower plan the Workflows screen shows a locked panel that explains the upgrade rather than controls that could not work. The screen, the behind the scenes service and the application programming interface (the API other software uses) all apply the same rule, so what you see on the page matches what a request would be allowed to do.
Step by step
- Open Workflows. It is reached from the Settings area.
- If your plan includes it, the builder opens. If not, read the locked panel to see what the upgrade adds.
- Choose a trigger from the ones your workspace actually offers.
- Choose the action that should follow, then save the rule.
What happens next
Once saved, a rule runs on its own each time its trigger fires. Because the available triggers are read from the product, the list you see is the honest set that can actually fire, rather than a menu of options that quietly do nothing.
Common problems
The builder is locked: your plan does not include Integrations, and the panel explains the Portfolio plan or the Pro add on that unlocks it. Pricing is a question for the account owner through billing, not something stated here. A trigger you expected is missing: only triggers that can genuinely run are offered, so an absent one is not available on your workspace rather than hidden.
