Getting started

Ask the AI compliance advisor

Open the assistant from any screen and ask about the procurement rules your products cover, with the sources it used shown under every answer.

What this is for

The AI compliance advisor answers questions about the procurement and social value rules that Velstrian Bid and Velstrian Buy cover. Use it when you want a plain explanation of a rule, for example when a social value weighting applies or what a carbon reduction plan has to contain. It is built for people who are not procurement specialists, so ask in everyday words.

Where to find it

The advisor is part of the one assistant panel that opens on top of whatever screen you are on, so you never lose your place. Choose Compliance advisor from the menu to open the panel in its AI mode. An older advisor link still works, and it takes you back to the screen you came from with the panel open. If your organisation holds neither product, the advisor asks you to add one first and offers a link to browse products.

Step by step

  1. Choose Compliance advisor from the menu.
  2. Type your question in the box, or pick one of the suggested questions.
  3. Read the answer. The sources it relied on are listed under it, with a link when there is a verified official page.
  4. Ask a follow up in the same conversation.
  5. Choose Stop if you want to end an answer early. Your question stays on screen so you can ask it again.

What it knows and what it does not

The advisor is grounded in published United Kingdom procurement and social value rules. Its opening panel tells you which rules it covers for your organisation. For a buyer it explains what to require of bidders and how to evaluate it. For a firm that so far bids only for private work, it says that these rules govern public procurement and will apply when you bid for public work.

By default the advisor does not read your own bids, evidence or uploaded documents. If you turn on AI data consent in your privacy settings, it can also read your contract details, your social value commitments and counts of your evidence, plus the confirmed requirements of a bid you select. It never opens your evidence files. You can turn the consent off again at any time.

If it goes wrong

If an answer says no source document was matched, treat it as a lead and check the official guidance before you rely on it. An answer is advice to help you decide, not legal advice. If a conversation you reopen from history shows no sources, that is expected, because history does not store them. For a question about how to use the product itself, the support assistant on the Support page is the better place.
