What this is for
When you first sign in to Velstrian Tenderworks, a short setup journey gets your workspace ready. It confirms who your organisation is, how you work with tenders and which products you will use, so the rest of the product is shaped to your situation from the start. It is a few screens, not a long form, and a progress bar shows how far through you are.
Confirm your organisation type
One screen asks you to confirm your organisation type. Velstrian Tenderworks makes a starting guess from the ending of the address you signed in with and pre-selects it, and says plainly that it is an assumption, not your answer. You check it, change it if it is wrong, then tick the box to confirm it is the right description of your organisation. You cannot carry on until you confirm, so the type recorded is always one you agreed.
Choose your products
If your organisation holds both Velstrian Bid and Velstrian Buy, a later screen lets you set each one up. If you hold only one product, you do not see this screen. The setup cards follow what your organisation actually holds, so a product you do not have is never offered.
Step by step
- Sign in for the first time. The setup journey opens on its own.
- Check your organisation name and confirm your organisation type.
- Say how you work with tenders: We answer tenders if you are a supplier, or We run tenders if you buy.
- Say where you trade, and set up the product or products you hold if asked.
- Choose Finish setup. If you need to stop part way, choose Finish later.
Why the setup is short on purpose
The journey asks only for what shapes the rest of the product: who you are and what you will use. Everything else, your organisation profile, your evidence, your team, is set up later in the product where it has more room and more context. Keeping the first run short means you reach a working workspace quickly. Confirming the organisation type early also means the help, the examples and the defaults you meet afterwards already fit a buyer or a supplier, public or private.
Common problems
The suggested organisation type is wrong: change it before you confirm. You did not see a product choice screen: that screen appears only when you hold both products. You want to change something set here later: finish the short journey first and adjust it from Settings afterwards.
