What this is for
Home is the first screen you see after you sign in to Velstrian Tenderworks. It answers one question: what do I do next? The Action centre is the longer list behind it. Together they work for a supplier answering tenders, a buyer running them and a firm doing both, for public and private work alike.
What you see on Home
A short greeting comes first, then a queue headed by how many things need you, for example that one thing needs you before a date. The items are numbered and the first is the most pressing. Each card has one next step, so you never have to decide where to start.
Below the queue sit your work in progress, with a link to open your bids and, if you buy, your buyer requirements. Further down are quick actions for your product, the products you hold and a list of recent changes with a link to your notifications. If you are new, a short getting started list takes the place of the queue and shows how far through setup you are.
How the queue is ordered
The order follows fixed rules, the same on every visit. Anything blocking your account comes first, then legal deadlines, then money at risk, then everyday work. Overdue items and items due this week come before later dates, and quicker tasks rise when two items are otherwise equal. Open the small note that asks how the queue is ordered to read the rules on screen.
Step by step
- Open Home from the menu.
- Read the headline. If it says you are all caught up, nothing is waiting on you.
- Start with number one and use the single next step on its card.
- Snooze an item that is not blocking you if it can wait. A snoozed item with a deadline comes back no later than a week before that deadline.
- Choose View all in Action centre to see everything.
The Action centre
The Action centre shows everything that needs you across your products, ordered by how soon it is due. Nothing is hidden there, so items you snoozed on Home still appear, marked with a badge. You can search by title, detail or product, filter by when something is due (overdue, due soon, upcoming, later or no date), filter by product, and switch between priority order and soonest due date first. The snooze control lives on Home, because the Action centre is a read only view.
If it goes wrong
If part of your work could not be read, the page says it could not check everything and offers a retry. Nothing has been changed or lost, and the list may simply be incomplete until you try again. An empty Action centre is good news. It reads that you are all caught up, and it offers a shortcut to start a bid or create a requirement. If a filter shows nothing, the page says the filters are the reason and offers to show everything again.
