Velstrian Bid

Reuse your best answers with the Answer library

Keep approved answers in one place and pull them into any bid, so you never rewrite the same thing twice.

What this is for

The Answer library holds answers you have written once and want to reuse. Most tenders ask the same questions in different words, about your quality management, your health and safety, your social value approach and so on. The library lets you store a strong, approved answer and drop it into any future bid, so your team writes less from scratch and keeps a consistent voice.

One library for the whole organisation

This is important. The Answer library belongs to your whole organisation, not to a single bid. An answer you add is available in every bid, and an answer you delete is gone from every future bid, not just the one you are looking at. The screen states this in words, and it sits under the Library area rather than inside any one contract, so the shared scope is clear before you change anything.

Step by step

  1. Open the Answer library from the Velstrian Bid menu.
  2. Read the saved answers. Each one is a reusable block of text you can search.
  3. Add a new answer with your approved wording, so it is ready for the next bid.
  4. Inside a bid, pull a library answer into a question as your starting point, then tailor it to that buyer.

Who can change the library

Everyone on the team can read the library. Adding is open to team members who can edit data. Deleting an answer is limited to the account owner and admins, because a delete removes that answer from every future bid across the organisation. If you do not see a Delete control, your role does not hold that permission, which is working as intended rather than a fault.

What happens next

A tailored library answer still runs through the same review and approval steps as any other answer before you export the submission. Reusing a block is a faster first draft, not a shortcut past review.

Common problems

You cannot delete an answer: that control is owner and admin only, by design. An answer reads oddly in a new bid: the library stores general wording, so always edit a reused answer to name the specific buyer, contract and dates. Treat the library as your source of strong starting points, not as finished answers.
